What is c|Life for the City?

c|Life for the City is the community outreach ministry of Community Life Church; through this ministry, we engage both individuals and Community Groups in the vital work of being Christ for our communities.

We conduct both short and long term volunteer opportunities, we call our short term opportunities "Seeds" events and our long term relational opportunities "Roots" ministries. Through our Seeds events, we organize a single event to meet specific needs within our community, and it is a chance to lay a foundation for further growth. Through our Roots investments, we dig in and plant intentional roots in the lives of people based on sustained meaningful relationships. These may also offer people the chance to partner with vetted ministry organizations in order to bring about long term change.

We are confident that anyone can find an event or ministry that they would be interested in working with, as c|Life seeks to help all Christians take the vital steps outside our church walls to bring restoration and healing to our neighbors. Please read on for more information about c|Life for the City and a list of specific events in both Forney and Mesquite.

How to Get Involved

God has given us tremendous opportunities and open doors through which we can truly be transformational people within our cities. But obviously these ministries cannot happen without the commitment and skills of volunteers and servants to help make these outreach ministries succeed. We are excited about what God is doing through c|Life for the City and we hope you will join us in fulfilling our Biblical command to be the hands and feet of Christ.

From now until November 27th, c|Life for the City will be collecting non-perishable food items at both the Forney and Mesquite campuses to benefit local food banks and our ongoing Root ministries (Genesis Center, the Layden Senior Center's Meals on Wheels program, Sharing Life ministries, North Texas Food Bank, etc) to help restock their pantries after the Thanksgiving holiday rush. Our goal is to collect over 2 tons of food by asking everyone to bring 4lbs. of food per person in your family. • Canned tuna/chicken/other proteins
• Peanut butter/jelly
• Dry pasta/rice/beans
• Canned soup
• Shelf-stable milk
• Canned fruits and vegetables
• Cereals/oatmeal
• Juice or juice boxes
• Baby formula
• Personal hygiene items

Note: All items should be non-perishable and in shatter-proof containers.

Impact My Community

Impact My Community is an opportunity to serve the under resourced in our community together alongside other churches in the area for the sake of Christ and his name. We will be doing home repairs, yard and outdoor maintenance projects, and distributing clothing and food donations to those in need. This once-a-year event is a great opportunity to practically demonstrate the love of Christ in word and deed to those around us with other believers.

Impact My Community is an all day event that will take place on Saturday May 5th. There will also be an all-volunteer meeting on April 29th that is vital to attend, as you will meet your job site leader and find out more about your specific project before you show up the morning of May 5th.
